Visian ICL™ – High Definition Vision

“Visian ICL lenses were made for people like me,” states Ana.

A long-time user of soft contact lenses, Ana began to notice that she needed more frequent prescription changes. When even her stronger prescription lenses didn’t give her the clarity she needed, Ana began looking for better, more lasting options.

“I went to several eye doctors over the years, and they all told me the same thing: my vision was too poor to be corrected with LASIK surgery,” Ana explains.

“Then I read an article about Dr. Scott Behler. He talked about correcting high refractive errors like mine with a lens implant that rests behind the iris without bothering the natural lens. Other implantable lenses replace your eye’s natural lens,” points out Ana, who is a Registered Nurse. “The procedure Dr. Behler described didn’t require any reduction in my corneal tissue, the way LASIK would, so I was very interested in this new approach.”

“Even knowing my health care training, Dr. Behler was very thorough in his explanations about the different approaches to vision correction, and made sure I understood everything he told me,” recalls Ana. “He told me I would be an excellent candidate for the new lens implant I’d read about, the Visian ICL.”

“I liked that,” supports Ana, “and I also liked the fact that Dr. Behler could use the Visian ICLs to give me monovision correction [one lens for distance, one for reading]. I’d been using that approach with my soft contacts for several years, and it worked well for me.”

Following her vision correction surgery, Ana was surprised not only by the immediate improvement in her vision, but also by Dr. Behler’s obvious concern for her outcome and her well-being.

“The one thing that really impressed me about Dr. Behler, if I wasn’t impressed before, is the fact that he called me the evening after my procedure to find out how I was feeling and if everything was okay,” says Ana. “I think that goes to show what a professional, caring person he really is.”

Since the placement of her Visian ICLs, Ana has enjoyed the benefits of truly high definition vision.

“I returned to Dr. Behler’s office the day after my surgery for a follow-up exam, and I was amazed at the things I’d never seen before,” she marvels. “I didn’t know there were numbers at the bottom of the street signs telling me what block I was in! I also love the way colors look more vivid to me and how much detail I see everywhere I look.
